It’s the best week of the year, Fashion Revolut It’s the best week of the year, Fashion Revolution Week! ❤️

While the theme for this year is Think Globally, Act Locally – highlighting the ways global issues in the fashion industry manifest differently in each region and that we are stronger together – today’s theme in the @fashionrevolutionaustralia calendar is Loved Clothes Last.

This is a phrase that was popularised by @orsoladecastro, co-founder of Fashion Revolution, and it’s the title of her book.

Today, on this rainy Wednesday in Perth, I want to highlight my raincoat!

Swipe through for the details & shout out to @macpac for making something that has LASTED and that is connected to so many amazing memories.

Check out @fash_rev and @fashionrevolutionaustralia this week and beyond & join the collective action driving systemic change ✊🌏

A small reminder this International Women’s Day A small reminder this International Women’s Day that around 80% of garment workers are women (although I’ve read that it can be up to 85%, and even 90% in some countries, such as Cambodia), and mostly women of colour.

What’s more, it’s estimated that only 2% of garment workers around the world are paid a liveable salary.

At the hands of the fashion industry, women garment workers experience:
👉 Wage theft and financial exploitation
👉 Abuse, gendered violence, harassment, and assault

Fashion (and especially fast fashion) is a feminist issue.

Today is a good day to think not only about the women directly around you, but about all the women, globally, who make your life and your comfort possible through their exploitation (and to do something about it).

Last weekend’s trip to Wadjemup Rottnest 🤍☀ Last weekend’s trip to Wadjemup Rottnest 🤍☀️ I finally (!!) got a bike - woo! So what a better way to use it than to cycle into Freo, pop it on the ferry, and spend a day beach hopping on a traffic-free island.

Coincidentally parked ourselves up in front of a boat called ‘Sláinte’ (video above, don’t often come across Irish words in Perth so it was nice) 🥹 So, sláinte!! Cheers to the sun, good health, and this scenery 🌅
