Eco Fashion Week Australia: The Complete Fremantle Guide for 2018

I was overjoyed to hear the news from Eco Fashion Week founder and fellow Western Australian Zuhal Kuvan-Mills in July that I was accepted as a media partner for this years Eco Fashion Week Australia events.

It is an honour and huge personal achievement to take part in an event that aligns so well with my passions and values. Not to mention the convenience – it’s also so close to home!

About Eco Fashion Week

Eco Fashion Week Australia (EFWA) started last year in my home city of Perth, WA. EFWA draws so many like-minded fashion designers and speakers together from around the world and showcases some of the best designs in eco-friendly fashion.

Although I didn’t attend in 2017, I remember the event being a huge success and promised myself to step out of my comfort zone and attend in 2018. I’m so proud that what once was a local event is now taking Australia by storm, with shows also taking place in Port Douglas at the beginning of November.

The Perth Runway Events

EFWA kicks off with the Gala Night on Thursday, 15th of November at Fremantle Function Centre. The fun begins here with an opening ceremony, a preview of designers, award presentations, and more.

Four runway nights then follow from the 16th to the 19th of November showcasing designers such as Green Embassy, Melaleuca Rise, and Ngali. I will be attending every single event so be sure to keep up with me on Instagram (@mollyfarai) for all the live coverage.

If you’d like to attend an event or two (that would be fantastic – I would love to see you there!), you can purchase tickets here. If you’re feeling lucky, you can also enter EFWA’s competition to win a double pass to every night via their Instagram account here. Hurry, entries close 4pm Perth time on the 2nd of November!

Other Perth Events

A number of related events will be taking place in Fremantle from the 14th to the 19th. I’m particularly excited for the Disposable Planet – 2 Eco Seminar, which I have bought tickets for as well! The seminar will be held by some incredible speakers in the sustainable space. I can’t wait to hear their insight and advice.

There will also be mending workshops held at D’Angelo Café from the 15th to the 17th, as well as fashion swaps at Bar Orient every day at 11am from the 15th to the 18th. Bar Orient will also be hosting Fashion for Oceans, a clothing market in support of Sea Shepherd. Definitely one to check out!

All QLD events are very similar to WA events and can be viewed at EFWA’s website here.
